About Rathfinny Run
The Rathfinny Run takes runners through the vineyards and woodland of Rathfinny Wine Estate within the South Downs National Park near Alfriston. The trail course is a hilly loop featuring grass paths, hard track and wooded sections with roots, tight switchbacks and cambers. Two distances are available on 9 May 2027: 11 km and 13.1 miles, each with approximately 220 metres of elevation gain. Distance markers appear every 2 km, and participants should prepare for potentially muddy conditions in wet weather.
The event provides water and banana stations at 5 km and at the start and finish, with additional fruit and vegan flapjack or malt loaf available. Runners are asked to bring their own hydration vessel as single-use cups won't be provided. Portable toilets are located near the Hut and The Tasting Room. A five-minute warm-up precedes each race start. The event is chip-timed and finishers receive recycled slate medals.
