About Regular Irregular
Regular Irregular takes place on Saturday 12 December 2026 at Brockholes Village Hall in Holmfirth, with routes across the surrounding moorland and urban areas. Organised by an LDWA group, the event offers a choice of trail distances: 4 miles, 7 miles, 12 miles or 23 miles. Participants can attempt multiple loops but must complete them in order of length, starting with the longest first, and there are cut off times for starting the shorter routes.
The trails cover moorland, urban sections and roads in early winter conditions. Runners and walkers are required to carry a map (Explorer 288 recommended, or electronic versions with backup power) along with mandatory equipment including waterproof clothing, torch, compass, whistle, first aid kit and survival bag. Dogs are welcome under constant control.
