About Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday offers trail runners a chance to take part in a meaningful event that honours the occasion with a moment of silence during the race, preceded by the Last Post and Reveille played live.
Held in Brightlingsea, Essex on 8 November 2026, the race takes place on an undulating, traffic-free looped trail course of 10.54 km. Runners complete two laps for a half marathon or four laps for a marathon distance, with a six-hour time limit allowing participants to continue while the clock permits. The event is UKA affiliated and TRA permitted, and qualifies for the 100 Club.
Aid stations are positioned at the end of each lap and at approximately 5 km, offering water, squash, flapjacks, fruit, nuts and other snacks. Participants need to bring their own cup, flask or bottle; Speedcups are available for purchase at registration. The race starts outside Bateman's Tower Café on Promenade Way, with roadside and public car park parking available nearby.
