Delamere Forest's woodland trails near Frodsham form the backdrop for this Backyard Ultra on 8 May 2027. The format demands discipline: runners complete two laps of the 2.08 mile course each hour, on the hour, with a cumulative distance of 4.167 miles per loop. Around 232 feet of elevation gain features on each circuit. Those who miss the hourly time cut-off or aren't in the start corral when the bell rings receive a DNF, with warning bells sounding at three, two and one minute before each lap begins.
The event continues until only one participant can start another lap. Race HQ at Delamere Forest serves as the sole aid station and crew base, where water, fruit, snacks, energy bars and electrolytes are available. Runners can set up a personal rest area on the grass with their own tents or gazebos. The event is limited to 100 participants, with portaloos and free parking provided near HQ.
