About Ring O' Fire
Ring O' Fire offers two trail running options around Anglesey's coastline. The flagship 130-mile event takes runners on a full clockwise loop of the island over three days, departing from and returning to Breakwater Country Park in Holyhead. The route follows the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path with nine checkpoints, where participants must meet mandatory cut-off times, and encompasses everything from sandy beaches and pebble coves to cliff-top paths, headlands, and forest sections with over 13,000 feet of ascent and descent.
The shorter Firelighter option covers nearly 47 miles and runs over the opening section of the coastal path, starting at Breakwater Country Park and finishing at Moelfre with three checkpoints. Both routes are predominantly trail with some quiet roads, gates and stiles, featuring significant undulations along the headlands. Free parking is available at Breakwater Country Park, and a paid shuttle service runs from Moelfre back to the start for those wishing to leave a car at the finish.
