About Roach Valley Way Charity Relay
The Roach Valley Way Charity Relay takes runners along the Roach Valley Way long distance footpath across 23 miles of Essex trail. Staged as a four-leg relay with four runners per team, the event takes place on Sunday 2 May 2027, starting from Rochford Takeaway in Rochford.
Each leg is run independently with its own start time and marshal team. Runners navigate using the Roach Valley Way signage, route maps and written descriptions provided beforehand. Roving marshals will manage road crossings and supplement the existing footpath markers where needed. Teams compete on a points system, with the lowest combined score across all four legs determining the winner; ties are settled by fastest overall time.
All proceeds from the relay support Havens Hospices.
