About Rombalds Stride
The Rombalds Stride takes runners across 23 miles of moorland trail in West Yorkshire on 6 February 2027. Based around Guiseley in Leeds, the single-lap route climbs through some of the region's most dramatic terrain, passing through Esholt, Baildon, Ilkley, Burley Woodhead and Menston whilst traversing Rombalds Moor, Ilkley Moor and Otley Chevin. The course is hilly and demands stamina on open moorland.
The event is run by the 15th Airedale Scout Group from their headquarters near Guiseley. Individual participants must be at least 18 years old, though members of the Scout or Guide association can enter from age 12. Places are limited to 550 runners. Refreshments are provided along the route, and toilets are available at the start and finish. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cup to help reduce waste. There are no distance markers on the course, and the venue offers no changing facilities, showers or baggage storage.
