About Round Rotherham Run - Solo
A 50-mile trail challenge split across eight stages, Round Rotherham Run takes place on 3 October 2026 based at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The solo version follows an undulating course totalling around 800 m of climb across low-lying terrain, with stage distances ranging from 6.3 km to 15.6 km. Underfoot conditions vary considerably throughout, taking in hard-surfaced paths, road and canal towpath alongside field crossings, muddy tracks and woodland paths, with some sections prone to becoming sloppy or wet.
The route includes eight checkpoints where competitors must register and report as required. Participants encounter at least one railway level crossing and a railway bridge along the way, and are responsible for their own safety when crossing these sections. Waterproof clothing and a torch are recommended for navigation, particularly for runners competing during early or late hours. Navigation aids such as GPS can help with following the marked course. This marks the 43rd edition of the event, held under TRA permit and UK Athletics rules.
