About Run Forest Run - Tollymore
Run Forest Run returns to Tollymore Forest Park for a winter trail running event, with 5K and 10K options taking place on 12 December 2026. The mixed tarmac and forest path route winds alongside the Shimna River, past the Hermitage, with the Mourne Mountains visible across the landscape. Runners will experience sections of uneven terrain typical of forest running, so trail shoes are recommended.
Entry is online with race packs posted out. Participants receive a medal, chip timing, race number and post-race refreshments. The upper car park offers free parking for runners, and toilet facilities are available in both the main car park block and the stone building adjacent to the upper car park. There are no on-course water stations due to winter conditions, so runners should carry water if needed.
