Runners exploring Cambridge's university heritage will find this self-guided audio tour an unconventional way to experience the city. The Run the Cambridge Colleges Half Marathon covers 13.1 miles on trail terrain, passing all 31 of the university's colleges alongside hidden sights and major attractions. Starting at Parker's Piece and finishing near Hills Road Sixth Form College, participants can complete the route at any time between March and December 2026.
The tour uses GPS-triggered audio commentary on the VoiceMap app, delivering directions and historical information about the colleges and landmarks encountered along the way. Participants receive access to the audio tour via a code sent within 24 hours of entry, and can walk or run the route on a date of their choosing. Friends can run together provided each person purchases their own access to the app.
