About Runaway Adventures - North Chilterns 50K
Runaway Adventures' North Chilterns 50K is a UTMB World Series Index Race taking runners across 50 km of trail through Bedfordshire on 21 November 2026. Starting from Putteridge Bury Country House near Luton, the route climbs approximately 798m as it follows the Chiltern Way and local trails past Lilley, Warden and Barton Hills, Pegsdon Hills and Offley, with notable viewpoints across Warden Hill and Barton and Pegsdon Hills.
The race is limited to 250 runners and carries an 8 hours 45 minutes time limit. Three checkpoint aid stations—at Arnold Rec in Barton (14.3km), The View (28km) and Offley Village Hall (37.2km)—offer water, refuelling options and toilet facilities. The course is fully marked and supported by marshals at key points. Runners must be at least 20 years old and are required to carry mandatory kit including a mobile phone, route map on watch or phone, windproof or waterproof jacket and a refillable hydration system holding at least 0.5L. The event operates under UKA and TRA rules.
