About Rutland Night 10km

The Rutland Night 10km takes place on the banks of Rutland Water across 6-7 November 2026, with runners starting and finishing near Normanton Church on the south shore. This illuminated 10km trail race follows an out-and-back route along the water, heading south before completing the length of the dam, passing through Sykes Lane, and turning at Whitwell Creek at the 5km mark. The predominantly tarmac course winds through a mix of surfaces including woodland sections that may be damp or leaf-covered at this time of year.

Runners set off between 5:30pm and 5:45pm each evening, with the course closing at 7:30pm. A torch is compulsory for safety on the darkened route. Parking is available at Normanton car park near the fishing lodge, with advance registration required and race numbers collected on the evening of the race.
