About Rye Ancient Trails 30K & 15K
Rye Ancient Trails takes runners through the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on a pair of challenging trail races around the medieval town of Rye. The event links ancient pathways across the region, passing Norman churches in Rye, Iden, Beckley, Northiam and Peasmarsh. Competitors can choose between a 15 km or 30 km distance on 13 September 2026, with the longer route featuring approximately 1,500 feet of climb across multi-terrain trails.
The race has a strong community presence, traditionally starting from Rye's high street with the Town Crier, and marshalled by local volunteers. Race headquarters is Rye Sports Centre, located behind the railway station with on-site parking available. Detailed route maps and GPX files are provided to entrants in advance.
