About Sandstone Trail Half
A 13.1-mile trail race over the Sandstone Trail, the Sandstone Trail Half takes place on 6 September 2026 starting at Bickerton Hill National Trust Car Park near Malpas and finishing at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre in Cheshire. The route follows the distinctive yellow circular waymarkers of the Sandstone Trail itself, with marshals stationed where the trail crosses local roads.
Two drink stations are positioned at approximately 6 and 10 miles. Runners should carry their own additional water, mobile phone and extra clothing for changing weather conditions. The race operates a 3 hour 30 minute cut-off time and includes a timed-out crossing point on the A51; the time spent at this control is deducted from competitors' final times. The finish area at Kelsall Hill offers shower facilities and a cafe. The event is run under FRA rules.
