About Saxons 5 Mile Race
Saxmundham's Saxons 5 Mile Race takes runners on a mixed terrain loop through and around the Suffolk town, starting and finishing at Carlton Park Sports Pavilion. The five mile route heads towards Brook Farm Road and Kelsale before circling back, incorporating playing fields, footpaths and off-road sections that keep the surface varied throughout.
The course is fully marshalled and signposted, with chip timing recording all finishers from a field open to club runners and recreational participants alike. Junior runners get their own events too, with 1K and 2K fun runs taking place on the Carlton Park sports field before the main race gets underway on 4 October 2026.
