About Scafell Pike Trail Marathon
The Scafell Pike Trail Marathon takes runners on a 26.2-mile mountain trail challenge through the Lake District on 23 August 2026. Starting from Lingholm near Portinscale, the route climbs to the summit of Scafell Pike before descending to finish at Crow Park in Keswick, combining lakeside paths, woodland trails and rugged mountain tracks with approximately 1,800 metres of ascent.
Organised by Fellside Events, the race is designed for experienced trail and mountain runners with strong fitness and navigation skills. The event includes electronic chip timing, fully staffed checkpoints, mountain safety cover, medical support and hydration stations. Drop bag transport is available and GPX route downloads are provided. Registration and finish take place at Crow Park, with the race starting at 08:00 following a mandatory safety briefing.
