About Scilly60% - The Marathon
This trail marathon spans five inhabited islands in the Scilly Isles, with runners circumnavigating St Martin's, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes before finishing on St Mary's. The 26.2-mile route is marked and includes boat transfers between islands, with ferry transitions coordinated around tidal schedules.
The event is self-sufficient, meaning participants carry their own supplies throughout the day. Runners must start with at least 3 litres of water and are responsible for bringing food, clothing and basic kit; spare supplies can be left on the boat or at island start areas. There are no energy stations en route. The cut-off time allows a pace of 8:30 min/km, though terrain, tidal deadlines and logistical factors present significant challenges. The field is capped at 150 runners, with full event support and first aid cover provided at island start and finish quays. The marathon takes place on Friday 4 September 2026.
