About Seagrave Wolds Challenge
The Charnwood countryside around Seagrave plays host to this 16-mile cross-country challenge, held annually in November. Rather than a competitive race, participants take on the Leicestershire Wolds terrain—varied, hilly, and multi-terrain across footpaths and private land—at their own pace. The 22nd edition takes place on 7 November 2026, starting and finishing at Seagrave War Memorial Hall.
This is as much a test of personal endurance against distance and weather as it is a route through the landscape. Food and drink stops are provided along the way, with cobs, cakes, and apple crumbles waiting at the finish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join participants on the route. All money raised goes to local charities supporting Seagrave Village Church, the Memorial Hall, the local school, and the Royal British Legion.
