About Seven Sevens Race
The Seven Sevens Race takes place on 8 August 2026 around Newcastle in County Down. This is a challenging trail race across the seven highest peaks in the Mournes, demanding serious mountain running experience and fitness. The course runs anticlockwise this year.
Entrants must be capable of navigating open mountains and meeting the 14:00 cut-off at Ben Crom Dam. The organisers will refuse entry to those without adequate experience or fitness, and the minimum age is 18. Runners should carry the minimum safety kit as specified by the Fell Runners Association. The event is run under Athletics NI and FRA rules, with race HQ based at Shimna College where toilets and showers are available.
