About Shetland Toe To Tip
A six day expedition across the Shetland Islands, the Shetland Toe To Tip combines a 160 kilometre ultra marathon spread over three running days with travel and accommodation on this remote archipelago. The event begins after an overnight ferry from Aberdeen and takes runners from Sumburgh in the south to the islands' northern tip on 3 September 2026.
The route follows coastal trails, beaches, cliff tops, quiet roads and open countryside, designed to be manageable for both runners and trekkers. Full logistical support is provided throughout, including accommodation, ferry travel, checkpoints, medical cover and luggage transfers, allowing participants to focus on the running across this distinctive terrain.
