About Shropshire Way 80K Festival
The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms hosts this trail running festival across the region's distinctive landscape. Taking place in April 2027, the Shropshire Way 80K Festival offers four distances—10 km, 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles, and 80 km—each following hilly routes that take in summits, Iron-Age hillforts, ancient drovers' paths, woodland sections, and local market towns. Each distance has its own time limit.
Runners can expect support including free parking, first-aid cover, and trackers for the two longer events. The festival emphasises local food and drink between and after the routes, featuring Fidget Pies, beef stew served in a hilltop barn, local cheeses, sausages, and Bara Brith, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Finishers receive a certificate and festival memento.
