About SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge
Wade's Revenge takes runners through the North York Moors National Park on a 13.1 mile trail half marathon, with registration at Levisham Village Hall from 08:00 and the race starting at 08:45 on 21 February 2027. The route winds through forest tracks, ancient pathways and sheep trods, across open fields and wooded valleys, taking in the dramatic Hole of Horcum—a 400 ft deep natural amphitheatre said to have been created by the giant Wade in a quarrel with his wife Belle.
Two checkpoints along the course provide refreshment, with tea, coffee, soup and rolls available at the finish. This is a self-reliant fell running event; participants must carry mandatory safety equipment including a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, emergency bivvy bag, spare insulating layer, charged mobile phone with maps and compass, plus fluid and emergency food. The course will be marked with marshals and flags, with a GPX file and route map provided. Dogs are welcome on leads and will start after other runners.
