About Simonside (Thropton Show
Taking place on 19 September 2026, Simonside is a 12 km trail race held at Thropton Showfield as part of the Thropton country show in Coquetdale, Northumberland. The course covers approximately 7.3 miles with 365 metres of climb and is classified as a Category BM fell race.
Entry is available on the day only, with competitors paying separate admission to the showfield and race entry at Race HQ. Teams of three are welcome to take part. The event is insured through UK Athletics via the FRA, and entry fees support Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue.
