About Solstice Saunter
A five mile trail run taking place on the longest day of the year, the Solstice Saunter follows a circular route around Bolton Abbey Estate in Skipton. Starting from Cavendish Pavilion car park, the course heads clockwise through Strid Wood to Barden Bridge before returning along the river bank. The surface is mixed tarmac and gravel with a short grass section.
Organised by Airedale Dodgers in partnership with Bolton Abbey Estate, this fundraising event benefits Sue Ryder. The run takes place on 21 June 2027 and is sponsored by Ecology Building Society. A virtual option is also available, allowing participants to complete five miles on their own chosen route on the same day. Under 18s need a parent or guardian present, and under 11s must stay within arm's reach of a responsible adult at all times. One dog per runner is permitted provided it remains under firm control. Headphones are not allowed, and the terrain means wheeled transport is not suitable for this event.
