Runners seeking a substantial challenge in the South Downs will find their match in this 100 mile trail race across the National Park. Starting from Plumpton Racecourse in Lewes on 3 October 2026, the single-loop course encompasses over 12,000 feet of elevation gain, with rolling hills throughout. Participants have 34 hours to complete the distance, supported by 12 aid stations positioned along the route.
The event welcomes runners to use free onsite camping over the weekend, making it accessible for those travelling from further afield. The South Downs 100 mile also forms part of the South Downs Triple Crown challenge, allowing runners to complete three ultra-distance races within a calendar year.
