About South Downs 200 Miles
The South Downs 200 Miles is a 200-mile trail event looping through the South Downs National Park on 14 July 2028. Runners and walkers have 100 hours to complete the route, which follows trails including the Monarchs Way and South Downs Way, with approximately 22,000 ft of elevation gain across rolling hills, forest sections and steep climbs.
The course is fully supported and waymarked, with 14 aid stations positioned along the route and three designated sleep stations. Crews and pacers are permitted. The event is registered as a UTMB Index race.
Entry is by waitlist and selection process. Prospective participants must demonstrate substantial experience in long-distance running or hiking, with organisers seeking evidence of this background before acceptance.
