About South Downs Trail Run
The South Downs Trail Run takes runners into the South Downs National Park from Goodwood Estate near Chichester. Taking place on 7 November 2026, the event offers three distances: 12 km, 19 km and 21 km, all on trail terrain mixing forest tracks, fire roads, bridleways and single-track paths. Elevation gain ranges from 212m for the shortest route to 328m for the longest.
The course is signed throughout and passes notable points including Levin Down and a section of the South Downs Way, with a notable descent into East Dean followed by a final climb back to the start. Spectators are welcome, and runners can bring one dog each. The event operates a plastic-free policy and encourages participants to bring reusable cups or bottles.
