About South Pennine 24
The South Pennine 24 draws runners and walkers into the Dark Peak and across the South Pennine Moors on 27 February 2027. Based at Dovestone Sailing Club in Greenfield, this 24-mile trail event covers 3,900 feet of ascent across a mix of wild moorland, well-graded footpaths and bridleways, with open views across the surrounding landscape.
The route is supported at four checkpoints with food and drink, plus drinks and pastries at the start. Soup is served at the finish. Participants should be competent and suitably equipped for winter conditions on long distance events. A route description and walked GPX file will be provided to entrants in mid-February. The event has a minimum age of 18 and is limited to 150 entries.
