Phoenix Running South Wales brings its Christmas Advent Run to Merthyr Tydfil on 29 November 2026, starting from Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre and using the Taff Trail as its base. The event operates as a seven-hour timed challenge rather than a traditional point-to-point race, allowing participants to complete as many laps as they choose within the time window.
The 5.3 km lap course is an out-and-back route with two turnaround points, entirely on tarmac and officially measured to UK running standards. Each lap involves 63 metres of elevation gain and loss. Runners receive same-day results, digital bibs and digital finisher certificates, with an aid station in operation throughout the event.
