About Spearhead Ascent
Spearhead Ascent takes teams across the dramatic coastline of East Sussex, starting at Seven Sisters Country Park and finishing in Eastbourne. The 12 km trail route climbs around 162 metres over sections of the South Downs Way, traversing chalk grassland, coastal cliffs and undulating terrain as runners navigate between checkpoints using a route card.
This team-based endurance challenge is structured around navigation and resilience. Load bearing participants carry a minimum of 30 lbs in addition to water, while all competitors must locate checkpoints that provide information leading to a supply drop at the finish. The event takes place on 19 September 2026. Participants must be aged 18 or over, physically fit, and comfortable keeping to established trails along the clifftop route.
