About St Edmund Way Ultra
Taking place on 5 December 2026, the St Edmund Way Ultra is an 80-mile winter trail race spanning Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. The route is planned to start in Manningtree and finish in Brandon, with checkpoints at approximately 17, 28, 45 and 63 miles. Runners have a 28-hour time limit to complete the distance.
The event is still in its planning stages, with route details, timings and facilities subject to change. A mandatory kit list applies, including waterproof clothing with taped seams, a headtorch of at least 100 lumens, maps or GPS device, emergency shelter, warm hat and gloves, spare base layer, mobile phone, and at least 1 litre of fluid capacity plus 1000 calories of food from the start. Live tracking with an SOS function will be available during the race.
