About St Ives Bay 10K
St Ives Bay 10K takes place on 6 August 2026, offering runners an off-road challenge across Hayle and St Ives's coastal terrain. This 10km trail race starts on the beach and heads towards the lighthouse before climbing onto the dunes near Gwithian car park at around the 3km mark. Runners then navigate roughly 3km of Towans paths, including a final steep climb known as the Dune of Doom, before returning to the beach for the final 2km.
The course is chip timed and forms the second race in the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series. A separate 1 mile beach fun run also takes place, with entries available on the night. The main race has a minimum age of 16. All finishers of the 10km receive a bespoke medal, and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers as well as age category and team winners.
