This 25-mile trail event on 3 January suits runners looking for a challenge on a punctured figure-of-eight route across Essex countryside. Starting and finishing at St Johns Church Hall in Stansted Mountfichet, the course crosses the River Stort near the medieval village of Manuden, with its centre at Albury and furthest point near the iron age village of Braughing.
Support comes via two indoor checkpoints at 14 and 21 miles, plus a drinks and snacks table at 9 miles. The event is limited to 180 participants, with a minimum age of 16 (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). All finishers receive a certificate.
