About Stanza Stones Ultra
The Stanza Stones Ultra takes runners across 50 miles of South Pennine trail between Marsden and Ilkley on 28 November 2026. The route climbs over 6,800 feet through high moorland and valleys, passing six carved Stanza Stones and taking in the historical village of Haworth, sections of the Pennine Way, Stoodley Pike and Ilkley Moor.
Support is provided at six checkpoints offering food and water, with three indoor checkpoints serving hot food at Mytholmroyd, Haworth and Bingley. The race starts at Marsden Cricket Club and finishes at Curly Hill Scout Camp. Runners can access live tracking coverage, GPX files and segmented PDF maps for the four legs. At the finish, participants receive a memento and can access changing rooms, showers and a finishers meal. The minimum age is 20 years.
