About Steall Ultra 50K
A 50 km trail race across the Mamores ridge, the Steall Ultra takes runners on a linear mountain challenge through the Highlands. Starting in Kinlochleven on 19 September 2026, the route traverses five Munro summits along technical rocky ground and grassy trails, descending into Glen Nevis before joining the Ben Nevis tourist path and finishing at the Nevis Range. With approximately 3,100 m of ascent over the roughly 47 km course, runners must stay on the comprehensively waymarked route.
The race is fully marshalled and includes an aid station in Glen Nevis at around 31 km, equipped with drinks, food and toilet facilities. Participants are issued with GPS trackers for safety and live tracking, and have 14 hours to complete the course. Mandatory kit must be carried as specified by the organisers, and the entire route is compulsory with deviations from the marked path leading to disqualification.
