About Stort30 Ultra
Taking place on 25 October 2026, Stort30 is a 30 mile trail ultra based in East Hertfordshire, running from Bishop's Stortford along the River Stort and Lee navigations on the Hertfordshire—Essex border. The out and back route covers 15 miles each way over mostly grassy trail and graded footpath, with short tarmac sections at the start and finish. Riverside sections can become muddy and slippery in wet conditions.
Checkpoints are stationed roughly every 5 miles offering water, squash, basic snacks and occasional hot items, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available subject to cross contamination risk. A GPX file, written route description and course signage are provided. Electronic timing tracks finishers with results posted online as they cross the line, and cut offs are enforced at the 4 hour halfway point and 8 hours overall. All finishers receive a medal, with trophies for the top three in each gender category.
Runners must be 18 or over and carry their own drinking vessel. Parking is not available at the clubhouse; Bishop's Stortford station is advised with a short walk to the venue.
