About Stour Valley Marathon & Half
The Stour Valley Marathon & Half charts a course through Suffolk's countryside using established long-distance paths including the St Edmunds Way, Stour Valley Path and Essex Way. Participants navigate a mix of tracks, trails, roads and byways across approximately 27 miles for the marathon, with the half marathon following the first loop of this route. The event starts and finishes at Nayland Village Hall in Colchester on 20 June 2027.
Runners are responsible for self-navigation, with GPX files and written instructions provided. Fully stocked aid stations and checkpoints are positioned at approximately 6, 11, 15 and 20.5 miles. The marathon has an eight-hour cut-off time, while the half marathon allows four hours. Free parking and toilets are available at the village hall.
