About Striders Trail 5
Striders Trail 5 takes runners across five miles of mixed terrain through Sankey Valley Park in Blackbrook. The course combines compact trail with some tarmac sections, featuring uneven, muddy and rocky surfaces that call for appropriate footwear. Parts of the route pass through areas open to the public, and marshals are stationed at points where cars may be present to guide participants safely.
Based at the Sankey Visitors Centre on Blackbrook Road, the race offers limited parking and toilet facilities. Participants collect race numbers on the day and can leave baggage at the centre. Marshals cover the entire route, with water provided at the finish as part of a finisher's goody bag that also includes a race memento. Post-race food and drinks are available nearby. The event welcomes runners aged 15 and over, with prizes awarded for overall placings and age category winners from v40 to v65.
