About Summit 2 Sea - The Offa's Dyke Half Marathon
The Offa's Dyke Half Marathon descends from the summit of Moel y Parc to the beach at Prestatyn, following the National Trail across the North Wales landscape. This 13.8-mile trail race on 11 April 2027 covers significant elevation, starting above 1,300 ft and dropping to sea level with over 2,450 ft of total ascent along the route. Two feed stations are positioned on the course.
Registration takes place at the Nova Centre in Prestatyn. A coach transports runners to Bodfari, where a 45-minute walk leads to the summit start. The well-marked National Trail course operates under a five-hour overall time limit, with an intermediate cut-off of 2 hours 10 minutes at 10.5 km. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, a foil blanket or orange survival bag, a fully charged mobile phone, a whistle, and at least 500 ml of water at the start. Electronic timing is used for results.
