About Tameside March 5k Festival & Family Mile
Families and runners of all levels can get involved at the Tameside March 5k Festival & Family Mile, held at Richmond Street Community Centre in Ashton-Under-Lyne on 13 March 2027. The 5k takes place over just over five laps of a flat, traffic-free cycle circuit course, with graded races scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening to suit different paces, from a sub-17:30 race through to an open category. Chip timing is available, making it suitable for personal best attempts.
The Family Mile runs at 3.30pm, offering children aged 12 and below the chance to run alongside adults for a lap and a half of the circuit. All participants receive a finisher's memento, with children in the family event receiving a medal. The event is staged under UK Athletics rules with a minimum age of 13 for the main 5k race.
