About Tapyard Ultra 50K
Taking place on 4 September 2027, the Tapyard Ultra 50K is a 50 km point-to-point trail race linking two breweries across the Berkshire-Wiltshire border. Starting at Renegade Brewery in Berkshire and finishing at Ramsbury Brewery in Wiltshire, the route changes direction each year, so runners following this year's course will experience it in reverse in future editions.
The 50 km course climbs 314 metres and is approximately 75% off-road, taking in woodland trails, paths, canal towpaths and country lanes. The route is fully signed with a provisional map and GPX file available beforehand. Four checkpoints spaced roughly 10 km apart mark the route, each with an aid station providing water, cola, energy drinks, fruit and snacks. Runners can arrange personal nutrition drops at the third and fourth checkpoints.
Chip timing records split times and offers predictive runner tracking throughout the race. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, a foil blanket and a 500 ml bottle or vessel. A pre-event shuttle bus option is available for those wishing to park at the finish venue.
