About Tavy 7
The Tavy 7 is a long-established 7-mile race on the western edge of Dartmoor, organised by Tavistock Athletic Club. Starting and finishing at Plaster Down near Tavistock in Devon, the event takes place on 25 October 2026 and follows an undulating route predominantly on narrow country roads, passing Pew Tor and the hamlet of Sampford Spiney. The measured course features mile markers throughout, and the race also hosts the Ross Shield, Devon's oldest running championship for eligible Devon clubs.
The event welcomes younger runners too, with a junior fun run of approximately one mile taking place while the main race is underway for children aged six and over. The route showcases the open landscapes and rural surroundings characteristic of this part of Dartmoor, with the start and finish on grass at Plaster Down.
