The Thames Ring Series offers runners a choice of three ultra-distance trail challenges: 100 miles, 150 miles, or 250 miles. Taking place on 21 April 2027 from Streatley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire, the event traces an anti-clockwise loop following the Thames, the Grand Union Canal and the Oxford Canal before returning to the start. The course runs almost entirely on canal and riverside towpaths with stretches of rural footpath and some urban sections, and is relatively flat overall.

Runners have strict cutoff times: 34 hours for the 100-mile distance, 53 hours for 150 miles, and 100 hours for 250 miles. Navigation is by provided maps and GPX files. Checkpoints are positioned roughly every 25 miles, with facilities including toilets, changing and indoor sleeping available at the start, finish and several checkpoints. Participants must be self-supported between checkpoints, with one drop bag permitted (up to 20 kg for the longer distances). Compulsory kit includes at least one litre of fluids, full waterproof clothing, a hat or buff, a charged mobile phone and a head torch of at least 100 lumens. GPS trackers monitor all runners throughout the event.
