About The 12 Stories - 24 Hour Fairytale Relay Challenge
A 24-hour relay challenge over a weekend camp, The 12 Stories invites teams of five to navigate story-inspired routes across the Stratford-on-Avon area from 23 to 25 July 2027. Runners choose from up to 15 different trails, each with its own character and length, guided by GPS alongside storybooks, clues and on-course challenges. Only moving time counts towards team standings, allowing competitors to rest and regroup between legs.
The event weaves narrative into every element. Themed areas dotted across the event footprint—the Library, Story Trails, Funfair and Final Story zone—frame the experience beyond the running itself. Some routes prioritise speed, others test teamwork and problem-solving, and several include activities that earn rewards or pieces needed for the closing challenge, where teams present a built character back to headquarters. Camping is included as part of the weekend, with evening entertainment and social time completing the experience.
