About The Bath Beat
The Bath Beat returns to the Somerset calendar on 24 April 2027, offering runners and walkers a choice of four trail routes across the countryside surrounding Bath. Starting from Southgate Car Park, participants can tackle distances of 12.5, 17, 21 or 26.5 miles through farmland, ancient woodland and river valleys on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The longest route passes through several villages including Bathford, Avoncliffe, Hinton Charterhouse, Norton St Philip, Wellow and Combe Hay before returning via the Somerset Coal Canal and Midford. All routes are fully supported with staffed checkpoints offering food, drink and homemade refreshments, with a finish area providing additional sustenance and recovery support for those who need it.
