About The Berkeley Marathons
The Berkeley Marathons is a 130-mile trail ultramarathon taking place over 26-27 September 2026 in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Runners tackle five laps of roughly 26 miles each, with approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain per lap and around 15,000 feet total. All five laps must be completed within a 24-hour cut-off.
The event is based at Hamfields Leisure on Hamfield Lane, where headquarters provides facilities including toilets, showers, water, charging points, an indoor area and a bar. Camping is included with entry for two nights for the runner plus one optional crew member. The event is limited to 120 places and offers GPS tracking, timing, marshals and first aid support. A "Berkeley buddies" crew provision is available for those without their own support team. Runners may only receive assistance in camp after completing each lap; otherwise crews and runners must be self-sufficient. Attendance at a Friday evening race briefing and completion of a race waiver at registration are required.
