About The Bristol Severn
Taking place on 20 February 2028, The MTC Bristol Severn is a 30-mile trail ultra that follows the River Severn from Stonehouse to Severn Beach. The route hugs the Severn Path for much of its length, making brief inland detours around Sharpness and Newton, and circumnavigates Berkeley Power Station before returning to the river. Generally flat with just one small hill, the course passes Oldbury-on-Severn, Oldbury Pill and Littleton Pill, and crosses under the M48 and M4 motorway bridges.
Two checkpoints provide vegan-friendly food and drink during the race, which operates on a cup-free basis. Runners must be self-sufficient for travel to the start at Wycliffe College area and from the finish at Severn Beach. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, maps or GPS device loaded with the route, a mobile phone and a basic first aid kit. All finishers receive a bespoke Bristol Severn ultra medal and Mount to Coast head visor, with top male and female finishers earning bespoke trophies. Entrants must be 18 or over and maintain an average pace of at least 4.0 miles per hour to complete the race.
