About The Drop - Cheltenham
The Drop is a navigation challenge taking place in Cheltenham on 25 July 2027. Participants are transported blindfolded (or wearing blackout safety goggles) to an undisclosed drop-off point and must find their way back to the event centre at Royal Well Bus Station using only their own navigation skills. No maps, GPS devices, compasses or external assistance are permitted.
Four distances are available: 6, 10, 15 and 25 miles, measured as the crow flies—meaning the actual route covered on the ground may be longer. Each participant receives a sealed emergency bag at registration and must keep it sealed throughout; opening it results in disqualification. The event centre is within a five-minute walk of both Cheltenham railway station and the town centre car parks.
