About The Drop Chester
The Drop Chester removes the normal scaffolding of a running event: no maps, no markers, no navigation aids of any kind. Participants surrender phones, watches and all guidance before being driven by bus to an undisclosed drop point outside Chester, then release themselves to find their own way back to the event centre on foot. The distances are measured as straight-line drops of 6, 10 or 15 miles, though the actual routes covered will be considerably longer depending on the navigation choices made during the run.
This is a trail and urban navigation challenge across the Cheshire landscape surrounding Chester, entirely self-directed with no support or waymarking. Success depends entirely on personal judgement, route-finding ability and determination to reach home.
