About The Drop - Darlington
Taking place on 8 May 2027, The Drop Darlington is a navigation-style running event in County Durham with a twist. Participants are transported by bus to an undisclosed location, blindfolded, and released to find their own way back to the event centre. Three distances are available: 6 miles, 10 miles, and 15 miles (half marathon), measured as the crow flies, so actual running distance depends on the route each runner chooses.
The course is entirely self-navigated without markers, GPS or maps. Runners will encounter a mix of urban streets, parks, riverside paths and suburban roads as they work their way back to Darlington.
